This MiG-21 was delivered to the National Volks Armee in May 1975, it served Jagdgeschwader Neun but was then transferred to JG3 at Preschen. On 3 October 1990 the Fishbed went to the Luftwaffe as 23+48. The Luftwaffe retired the aircaft at Rothenburg in July 1991. This MiG is preserved as 22+28 in the Motor Technica Museum at Bad Oeynhausen since 1994.

The aircraft belonged to the Taktische Aufklärungsfliegerstaffel 47 (TAFS-47), or in english tactical reconnaissance squadron 47. The recce pod, that includes the Fotokamera AFA-39, can been seen underenath its left wing. This 559 became 22+81 in the Luftwaffe in October 1990. The aircraft was eventually scrapped at Dresden in August 1993.

An Il-76 without an impressive history is nearly impossible to find. This Il-76TD was delivered to the Soviet Air Force as CCCP-76659 in late 1985, transferred to Atruvera as RA-76659 in 1994 and flew subsequently with Aviacon Zitotrans, Sukhoi and again for Atruvera up to 2000. Then it became ER-IBL with Airline Transp Inc and Juba Air Cargo up to late 2004. After that, it was seen like this, all white but in service with Tenir Air up to early 2007 when it was transferred to Eastern Express Georgia as 4L-GLP. Since late 2011 is it reported as stored at Osh (Kyrgystan) as 3X-GGO.

The Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) was the armed forces of East Germany up to 1990. This MiG-29UB was assigned to Jagdfliegergeschwader 3 (JG-3) "Wladimir Komarow" at Preschen air base. The 181 made its first flight on 21 March 1988, and was delivered to the NVA in April 1988, and according to NVA data the aircraft only flew some 311 flight hours before it was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 3 October 1990 as 29+24. So... this picture was just on time to immortalize it in NVA colors.

The Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) was the armed forces of East Germany up to 1990. This MiG-29A was assigned to Jagdfliegergeschwader 3 (JG-3) "Wladimir Komarow" at Preschen air base. The 684 made its first flight on 22 September 1988, and was delivered to the NVA in November 1988, and according to NVA data the aircraft only flew some 210 flight hours before it was delivered to the Luftwaffe on 3 October 1990 as 2914. This photo was just on time to immortalise it in NVA colours.
