This aircraft was painted in its Second World War colours (European) for a pre-retirement cross-country tour and represented the aircraft flown by RCAF 437 Squadron in 1944-45. At the end of the tour the aircraft was presented to the Comox Air Force Museum for static display.

Built as 42-23972 and delivered to the RCAF in July 1943, this Dakota was eventually retired from the Canadian Air Force when withdrawn in 1989. Sold to Basler Airlines in 1991, the aircraft underwent the company's turbo conversion in 1994. The airliner is registered to Oiland LLC at the time of uploading.

This Dak has recently been given a new paint scheme and is waiting for its control surfaces to be re-installed. It is former FZ671/12944, but incorrect serial EZ671 is vaguely visible on the tail (should be FZ671), with traces of 12944 shining through.
