This privately-owned Airbus H145 (BK-117-D-2) was registered to an owner in Cardiff by the Sea in San Diego Country, California in 2019 and recently upgraded with a new 5-blade main rotor system which is now standard on all new production BK-117-D-3 models and available as a retrofit for the BK-117-D-2. The new rotor system provides about a 300 lb. increase in payload and also reduces in-flight vibration.

This new K-1200 K-Max for Mountain Blade Runner was displayed on the Kaman booth at HAI Heli-Expo 2022 held March 9-11, 2022 in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas, Texas. When the aircraft flew out of the convention center on March 11 it carried the FAA registration N12001 which is being used by Kaman for flight testing prior to customer delivery.

This USCG Sikorsky HH-52A, 1390, wears the overall red colour scheme applied to aircraft assigned to USCG polar operations aboard ice breakers. In 1985, the Polar operations unit was HQ at US CGAS Mobile, Alabama where the first USCG HH-65 Dolphin helicopters were being tested. In 2015, their air frame was seen at the Heli-Flite Inc. facility at Riverside Airport in California. It was previously reported as owned by J. H. Helicopter Service in Sunsites, AZ in the 1990s and later stored at the Pima Air Museum, AZ.

This USCG Sikorsky HH-52A, 1384, spent the 1970s and 1980s primarily operating from Coast Guard Air Stations on the Pacific Coast. It's now preserved at US Coast Gauard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

US Coast Guard Sikorsky HH-52A, 1440, at CGAS North Bend at what is now known as Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (KOTH) in January 1985. The helicopter is painted in the overall red colour scheme used by USCG helicopters assigned to Polar operations at that time. In 2022, the air station operates five MH-65D Dolphin helicopters and is responsible for an area from Pacific City, Oregon, south to the California border, west to the 50nm offshore, and east to the I-5 highway corridor.

Built in 1974, this Cessna A188B was last registered to Howard Holland in North Pole, Alaska before it was cancelled from the US civil aircraft register in July 2013.

This Airbus AS 350B3+ was built by American Eurocopter Corp. at its factory at Golden Triangle Regional Airport (KGTR) in Columbus, Mississippi and test flown as N190AE before delivery to the Department of Homeland Security in 2012 and was assigned to the US Customs and Border Protection base at Bellingham International Airport, just south of the US-Canada border. Has US Customs and Border Protection titles and US Department of Homeland Security badge on the tail.

One of two seen on January 7, 1985 at Chico Airport. Built in 1974, this A188B was registered go an owner in Hardin, Montana since 1991.

Southern Seaplane has a seaplane facility and small airstrip beside a canal south of New Orleans near Belle Chase. In 1985, their business was primarily flying workers to offshore oil and gas production facilities in the Mississippi Delta not served by helicopters. The fleet was mostly Cessna 185s. The company acquired this DHC-2 Beaver, N53LP, from Dominion Air Lease Ltd. of Toronto in August 1984 (ex-C-GTER) and flew it until March 1990 when it was sold to Lake Union Air Service in Seattle and N91LU. On the date of the photo, the company was also overhauling two Grumman G-44 Widgeons.

This Sikorsky UH-60A was one of the first acquired by the USAF, assigned to the 55th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron at Eglin AFB, and scheduled to become the second prototype HH-60D Night Hawk combat rescue helicopter, before this program was cancelled. It was photographed with four other 55 AARS' UH-60s in January 1985. It was later converted to a HH-60G with the addition of an advanced combat navigation system, defensive armament and an inflight refuelling boom. It crashed while serving with the 58th SOW/512th RQS, near Angel Fire, NM on May 11, 2005.

The McKinley Climatic Laboratory is both an active laboratory and a historic site located in Building 440 on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. It was built late in the Second World War and first used as a refrigerated hangar for conducting cold weather tests on aircraft in May 1947. On the day this photo was taken, the inside temperature (as indicated by the large thermometer mounted on the hangar door) was -70F degrees when an unknown aircraft model was under test. In January 1985, MH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters of the 55th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron were based next-door to the Lab.

Niagara Helicopters owner Ruedi Hafen upgraded his heliport in Niagara Falls, ON in the late 1980s and early 1990s to accommodate more bus tour groups visiting from Asia and Europe. A new terminal building, gift shop and restaurant was build, helipads expanded and new tour helicopters added including Bell 412s C-GBHH (1988-1989) and C-GOPP (1990-1993), Bell TwinRanger (1994-1996), five Bell 206L-3s (1993-1996) five early Bell 407s (1996-2015). After Hafen sold the company to Helicopter Transport Services, the 407s were replaced with four Airbus EC130T2s (like C-GTZO pictured here) in 2015.

This piston-engined Sikorsky HSS-1N (150768) was sold new to Germany and served served with the military (Navy?) wearing the markings QK-580, QW-408, 8083 before it was retired and sold to the to US where it flew commercially as N90807, N97AA and N58HU (data source rotorspot.nl). In June 2015, it migrated to the northwest United States to join ADF Helicopters' large cherry drying S-58 fleet based in Brewster, Washington.

Retired mining executive Bob Dengler lands his Bell 206L-4, C-GWRD, at the Canadian Air & Space Museum's 2009 Wings & Wheels Heritage Festival at Downsview Airport in central Toronto. The helicopter previously flew in Canada and the USA as C-GADH, N209LB, N888LB and N888LN before Dengler purchased it in Apr. 2007. The aircraft was re-registered C-GFTE in May 2010 and C-GWRD reassigned to his new Bell 429. The LongRanger was sold to National Helicopters in Oct. 2011 and to Ardellini Aviation in Aug 2012 which owned it for only one day before exporting it to New Zealand as ZK-IWY.

This R44 was one of 30+ private helicopters that attended the private HeliClub fly-in at Mont-Tremblant / Saint-Jovite (CSZ3) in late May 2016. Quebec is home to the largest concentration of private helicopter owners in Canada and the HeliClub event is probably the largest civil helicopter fly-in in North America. This R44 II was registered to Helico.Store Corporation in 2016 and flown by Michael Boutin of Helimob, an agency for pilots and travellers to book helicopter tours and adventures with operators around the world. C-GKHS is now owned by Valley B Aviation in Manning, Alberta.

Calstar (California Shock-Trauma Air Rescue) operates a number of air ambulances bases in northern California equipped with Airbus EC135s. This EC135P2+ was based at Salinas Municipal Airport and is crewed with a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic.
