Quite an interesting bird indeed, this is one of only 31 L-90TPs manufactured and supplied to the Eritrean, Finnish, and Mexican Air Forces.

Actually my second time seeing this Antares Aviation aircraft, with the first occasion being over two years prior at Melbourne Orlando International Airport, just an hour drive away, along with its sister aircraft, N438BN.

This charter 757 originally belonged to American Trans Air before going to VIM Airlines in Russia in 2005, Air Bashkortostan in 2006, GainJet Aviation in 2008, and finally to this charter company called "Freedom II" in 2021.

This immaculate DC-7C freighter was unfortunately damaged beyond repair at Santo Domingo on 18 February 1993, when an engine failed on take-off. This was all the more unfortunate as the aircraft had been reactivated by T & G Aviation in 1989 after 22 years in use for technical instruction at the Alexandria Vocational School in Minnesota. After donation to the NMNA in 1976, the surviving VS-44 was later transferred for an extensive restoration at Sikorsky's Stratford CT airfield, where it was built in 1942. First operated by American Export Airlines with beds, dressing rooms, galley, snack bar, lounge and full ventilation, it was impressed for war service by the USN as JR2S-1 12391, carrying passengers and freight between New York and Foynes, Ireland. In 1949 Tampico Airlines attempted to start freight runs in the Amazon but abandoned the VS-44 in Peru. In the late 1950s it was recovered to California for Avalon Air Transport.
