Converted to Skyliner and displayed Farnborough 1971 in same scheme but with pink top and Interstol titles. Painted into BEA Scottish colours 1973, becoming British Airways 1974. Leased to McAlpines and later Marconi from 1986 to 1999, sold to Africa becoming 9U-BHJ, ZS-ORN, 3D-AER, 9Q-CSD and 9Q-CLD. Win Win Aviation N198WW 2019. The location is identified by the small harbour and disused airfield as Portavogie, Co Down.

It can be rapidly converted to other roles such as casualty evacuation with 12 stretcher cases and attendants. The large rear cargo door can be opened in flight to allow rapid deployment of paratroopers or heavy supply loads. " Built 1970, retired 2006 and put on display at Oman Armed Forces Museum, Muscat.

Olympics two Skyvans operate a network of shorthaul STOL air services betwen the Aegean islands of Rhodes, Kos and Karphatos, and between Athens airport and Porto Heli and Sparta on the Corinth peninsula. This Skyvan was retired in 2007 and placed on display at this very interesting museum.

Long distance contract work!

The second production Skyvan on demonstration to South West Aviation, but no sale followed. Withdrawn from use at Sydenham on 27 January 1969, and broken up there in November 1976.

Registered to Alaska Air Charter LLC.

Marketed as the 'Skyliner'. Registration cancelled on 16 March 1999 on sale to Burundi as 9U-BHJ. Became ZS-ORN in 2003, then 3D-AER, 9Q-CSD, and finally N198WW in November 2019.

The famous Austrian flying shoe box.

On 18 October 1998 a parked Aeropostale Boeing 727 rolled away from its parking brake and ran into a Ce310 and two Shorts Skyvan aircraft. The two Skyvans of the Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones were damaged beyond repair. Both aircraft were still parked on the ramp in February 1999, see here for the photos, which clearly show the damage.

Nearing 50 years of age, this sturdy workhorse is mostly flown in single pilot VFR operations with the Sky Force Polish Parachuting Centre (Polskie Centrum Spadochronowe).
