On 31 December 2020, the Ejército del Aire (EdA, Spanish Air Force) officially ceased operations with the Lockheed Hercules. The tanker/transporter has been operated by Ala de Transporte 31 (Ala 31) at Zaragoza air base since 1974. Here one is seen on the taxiway of Kabul during an operational deployment to Afghanistan. On 29 Dec 2020 this Herc arrived at Cuatro Vientos, for display at the Museo del Aire.

161526 belonged to the first badge of F/A-18As of the US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron (USNFDS) Blue Angels. Its a F/A-18A-7 of fiscal year 1980 and was factory fresh assigned to the FDS in Sep'87, the month this photo taken. From late '90 up to '95 it was assigned in to the Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division at NAS Patuxent River (MD) as SD-410. It was withdrawn from service in the fall of '98 and transferred to Fort Leonard Wood (MO) for use with the Chemical School for decontion drills. In '06 it was seen in a very bad shape. This is a replica of the aircraft that won the 1914 Schneider Trophy race as number '3' and was flown by Howard Pixton at an average speed of 86.75 mph (139.6 km/h) along the coast at Monaco. After he completed the course he opened up the throttle and flew another two laps and achieved a speed of 92 mph (148 km/h), which set a new world record for seaplanes. The replica was handed over to the museum 27 November 2013.

This aircraft took part in the Pan American Goodwill Flight which took 133 days in 1926-1927. The route was broadly San Antonio, Texas - Central America - west coast of South America as far as Valdivia, Chile - Buenos Aires - east coast of South America - Caribbean - Washington DC.
