It was acquired in 1979 by the West Albury Rotary Club for a memorial to the original PH-AJU, which had landed in Albury under arduous conditions in 1934. Control surfaces were fabricated from sheet aluminium and other non-aviation materials were used in its assembly. Safety concerns due to corrosion forced its removal from display in the early 2000s. In 2017 A30-11 was being restored for a new Uiver Memorial in Albury.

On March 27th 1977 this aircraft collided with a Pan Am Boeing 747 in fog on the runway at Tenerife. 583 people lost their lives in what is still the world's worst aviation disaster. Both aircraft had been diverted from nearby Las Palmas due to a bomb threat there and this aircraft initated a take-off without permission as N736PA was crossing the runway.

Although bought by Aeronaves del Peru in 1984, she remained in store at Opa-locka as was broken up next year. We take for granted nowadays a choice of views to shoot thanks to zoom lenses, but it occurs to me that the angle here was forced by my old fixed 200mm
