In 1992/96 the German Army was active for the UN in Iraq and Somalia, flying these all white CH-53's.

For the humanitarian relief operation in Somalia UNISOM 2 German Transalls received a white color scheme and "UN" titles. This aircraft was present at the static show of the Wunstorf open house in 1994.

Note the painted out 'UN' titles on this biz, but the UN's logo still remains.

A2-649 served as part of the United Nations Emergency Force II in Egypt. It would later return to Egypt for another peacekeeping tour of duty and also served with the peacekeeping force in Bougainville. On the later tour it was as an army helicopter, not RAAF. It is now displayed at the Museum of Army Aviation at Oakey, Queensland, painted bright red which was the livery it wore in Bougainville. Photographer's name not known.

This is one of the outside exhibits belonging to the Canadian Warbird Heritage Museum. The DHC-5 was ST-AHP of the Sudanese AF but has been restored in this UN scheme to commemorate the Canadian crew of the real CAF Buffalo '115461' that were killed when the plane was shot down over Syria on 9th Aug. 1974.

29398 preserved in the Fygvapenmuseum at Malmen served with F22 in the Congo for the United Nations Organisation in the early 1960s.

The United Nations intervened when the province of Katanga tried to separate from the freshly independent Belgian Congo in 1960. Sweden sent a small squadron of Tunnans which saw actual combat against Katangese forces. Swedish roundels were overpainted with white UN markings. A very interesting static exhibit at the Malmen airshow, no longer on display in the adjacent museum.
