Anniversary colour scheme: 55 years of 334 squadron.

Pretty F27-100 C-1 of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht was already a classic when it was photographed at Schiphol on a rainy January day in 1996.

Withdrawn from use awaiting a new owner.

To my knowledge this is the genuine C-8 prior to being withdrawn from use the same year and later eventually swapping places with C-12.

The first flight was made 18-May-1992 as PH-KXO. In Dec-1996 it became Netherlands AF U-05. In Sep-2014 it went to the Peruvian Navy as AE-567. On the fin it carries the Netherlands Air Force coat of arms.

Arriving at the old runway at Eindhoven, which was so narrow that pilots often called it the bicycle track.

T-255 was delivered to 334sq at Eindhoven on 25 Oct'04. The DC-10 arrived in the Netherlands in basic United Airlines c/s with 82,000 flight hrs on its clocks and with its former registration N1858U. Before its delivery, it as been stored at Marana (AZ) for some 3 years. On 01 Nov'05 it became T-255 and was converted in Italy for transport tasks. Due to cost reductions within the Dutch MoD, the DC-10 was only modified with a new cockpit and for personnel transport tasks. Further dwindling resulted in phasing out the a/c. Last flight on 29 Dec'13, and flown over to the UK for scrap on 11 Apr'14
