This Il-2 served with the 3rd Czechoslovak Combat Air Regiment when on April 20, 1945 it was hit by AA fire and crash landed with a full bomb load in no-mans-land. The plane was eventually retrieved and repaired, going on to serve after WWII ended with the Czechoslovak AF (30th Air Regiment) until 1948. It was then transferred to the National Technical Museum but was allowed to fall into a state of disrepair. The plane was rediscovered in a hangar at Kbely in 1967 and underwent extensive restoration so that it is now a fitting addition to the WWII Hangar at the Letecké Muzeum Kbely.

This Havoc was used by the Soviet air force and was shot down by anti-aircraft artillery on April 9, 1945 during an attack on a German convoy. The plane was forced to land, and the crew was saved. The wreck was discovered at the bottom of the Baltic Sea in June 2013, 4 km from Rozewie at a depth of 14 m. In October 2014, the plane was recovered from the sea. The wreck has been exhibited at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow since 2021.

On display in the Cold War Gallery at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. This is the export version of the MiG-23 that was less capable than domestic Soviet versions. It was flown by the 4477th TES, nicknamed the "Red Eagles", which also evaluated the MiG-17 and MiG-21 under Project Constant Peg over the Tonopah Test Range. The Soviet aircraft were used to simulate realistic adversaries, helping American aircrews to gain skill and confidence to defeat these threats. Constant Peg ended in 1988.

British ground crews working on Soviet Spitfires in Iran - they were shipped to Basra and transferred to the Russians in nearby Abadan. The Russians didn't like the Spitfire very much. It seems they didn't get the best airframes as BM186 and BL625, the third aircraft, had both met with accidents in RAF service during 1942 and the second, AD236, was a 1941 veteran. These three had already arrived in Basra before the end of 1942. Photo by: Sgt Neill / Imperial War Museums
