The A-12 served reliably in the Czechoslovak AF for many years and although 94 were built, no original machine has survived. Therefore, this faithful replica of the A-12 was built in the Trenčín Aviation Repair Works between 1980-82 using original documentation and with a Maybach engine and an original Aero propeller. It is on displayat the Letecké Muzeum Kbely in the standard three-color camouflage from the 1920s, with the badge of Letecky pluk 3 (3rd Air Regiment), which operated at Nitra and from 1928 at Piestany.

The Czechoslovak AF operated a total of six An-24V and when the country split into the Czech and Slovak Republics, four (2904, 5803, 7109 and 7110) went to the newly formed Air Force of the former and two (2903, 5605) to the latter. Two of the Czech frames were immediately put into storage and so the Czech AF only operated two planes (5803, 7109). The type was withdrawn from service on 26 October 2005

This plane was originally constructed as a DC-3 and delivered to Pan American World Airways in October 1937 as NC18119. It is perhaps more familar as the C-47 that sat on the the grass at Prague airport as the retro CSA aircraft OK-XDM. It is a new exhibit to the Kbely museum but in these fake markings.

Towards the end of WWII, a large number of Bf-109 G and K fighters were abandoned in Czechoslovakia by the retreating German forces. As the original engines were in short supply, the newly formed Czechoslovak AF put them into service with a different powerplant to form the Avia S-199. Between 1947 and 1951, 450 single-seat S-199s as well as 82 two-seat CS-199 trainers were built. The Avia S-199 was the standard Czechoslovak AF fighter until the first half of the 1950 with the last one retired in 1957. This example (cn 178) was restored using parts rescued from a scrapyard in Olomouc in 1969.

Towards the end of WWII, a large number of Bf-109 G and K fighters were abandoned in Czechoslovakia by the retreating German forces. As the original engines were in short supply, the newly formed Czechoslovak AF put them into service with a different powerplant to form the Avia S-199. However, this also necessitated that a trainer version be developed and this led to the two-seat CS-199 variant. Between 1947 and 1951, 450 single-seat S-199s and 82 two-seat CS-199s were built. This CS-199 has been retored in the colours it wore whilst serving with the Aviation School Prostějov.

This aircraft was supplied to Czechoslovakia withe intention of serving as a protoype for licenced production by Avia. However, jet aircarft technology progressed so quickly that the idea was dropped and, instead, it acted as a testbed under the S-100 designator for the Air Force between 1949 and 1950, after which it was assigned to the Military technical Academy as a training aid. The frame came to the Letecké Muzeum Kbely from the Technical museum in Brno in 1967.

These planes flew with the Czechoslovak AF after WWII in liason (K-68) or training (C-8) roles. This plane was formerly SP-AHB and obtained by the Letecké Muzeum Kbely in 1972. Over the next two years it was restored by the museum to resemble Czechoslovak AF '10' (cn 12234) and is now on display in the main hangar.

These two old Hinds are stored on the Kbely museum grounds but held back and not on the display line. Hopefully, as they have been moved to the museum this indicates that they will be refurbished for display. It is a real pity that 6050 on the right is at such a poor angle as it is an unusual DU trainer variant.

The Czechoslovak AF operated a total of six An-24V (marked as An-24B) and upon the split into the Czech and Slovak Republics, four (2904, 5803, 7109 and 7110) went to the former and two (2903, 5605) to the latter. Two of the Czech frames were immediately put into storage and so the Czech AF only operated two planes (5803, 7109). The type was withdrawn from service on 26 October 2005. This aircraft is still stored airside on Kbely air base.
