Later reregistered N1005S. Santa Monica Aviation was a major Aero Commander distributor and handled many new aircraft destined for customers in the US and Mexico.

KLM acquired six new DC-4 airliners in 1946. Named Rotterdam after delivery, PH-TAR flew the very first Amsterdam - New York service on 21 May. It was also the first KLM aircraft to wear The Flying Dutchman titles. Therefore, though the reg under the wing is tricky to read, this cannot be PH-TAP. One of the C-54s acquired by KLM in 1945, and operated as military aircraft for some time. This aircraft was standing together with a DC-4 in full KLM colours which is almost certainly PH-TAR, not yet named. NL-313 was delivered to KLM at the end of 1945 and was registered in the Dutch Civilian Register on 8 January 1946 as PH-TAO but not painted on. NL-313 flew Amsterdam-New York on 27/29 March 1946. It then returned to Amsterdam. Another flight on 13/14 April 1946 continued on to Santa Monica. It then went to Glenn L. Martin, Baltimore, for conversion to seat 42 passengers. The forerunner of all Douglas Commercials. The sole DC-1 on the day of its first flight from Santa Monica - 1 July 1933. Note the initial aerodynamic strut between fuselage and engine cowling - soon deleted. At date of image, the aircraft was owned by Douglas Aircraft. Quickly passed to TWA for airline tests. The DC-5 was not a success. Only 12 were built, four ended with the US Marine Corps as R3D-2s. This photo is probably from the Douglas facility in Santa Monica, California.

This aircraft was a wreck salvaged in Papua New Guinea that travelled to New Zealand and Australia where it was restored to static display by Drage's Air World. In 1989 was sold in the US and eventually displayed at the Museum of Flying with the registration N139DP reserved. From 1996 to 2004 it was restored to airworthy at Chino, flying June 2004 as N739QG. Soon after shipped to the UK to become G-CEJU.

Ex USAF, ex French air force and ex Haitiian air force but never served with the USN. In recent years has given up its gull grey and white markings for USN glossy sea blue.

Destroyed in a fatal crash at Ashland, OR in 1987.

Test reg F-WNGL then to N969F and N100V in 1967. To N256MA in 1974, N2568 in 1981, N800DC in 1982, N77QM in 1986, UR-EFB in 1996, N217CA in 2000 and N962AA in 2012. Still current on the register in 2020.

Built in 1947. Reregistered as N20CB around 1986. Still current on the register in 2020.

The first of two Sabreliners which were operated by Volkswagen. Built in 1967 and registered as N474VW. To D-CAVW in 1968, N787R then N124H in 1970, N415CS in 1972, N415GS in 1980, N350E in 1981, N58025 in 1987, N8345K in 1989, N265CM in 1991 and N257TM in 1998. Scrapped by the Sabreliner Corp in 2002.

Built in 1947. Destroyed in a fatal crash at Huntingdon Beach, CA in 1970.
