After RAAF service, this fairly late-production Wirraway was bought back by CAC in March 1960 for possible conversion to a Ceres ag aircraft. This did not occur and in November 1963 the aircraft was sold for scrap. Rescued by Pearce Dunn, it was kept at his museum at Mildura between 1970 & 1982. Sold for restoration at Point Cook and then Caboolture, it made its first post-restoration flight at Caboolture on 8 July 1997. Still based at Caboolture but seen here at the Wide Bay International Airshow.

Taxying across the apron as 'Unity 990' vacates the runway in the background at the Wide Bay International Airshow. VH-RQH was built in 1965 and registered on 16 March of that year to the Royal Queensland Aero Club in 'their' block. When it was sold on it retained its original rego. At some stage it was upgraded to an Airtourer 150, though it's still on the Register as a 115.

This unique aeroplane is the only airworthy Genairco in the world. Looking a lot like a Tiger Moth, the Genairco was actually a wholly Australian designed and built aircraft. This one was built in 1930 and has been flying more or less continuously since. Fairly recently restored to beautiful condition. Note the Polar Bear in the two-seat, side-by-side front cockpit!

Matt Denning's second, brand-new Boomerang restoration was on static display at the Wide Bay International Airshow. The aircraft is said to be the former A46-63, which crashed at Cape York, Qld, on 24 August 1943 after only 4 months service with 84 Squadron. The restoration included the addition of a second seat, although you wouldn't really know it to look at. The first post-restoraton flight was at Caboolture on 26 June 2009, a week before this photo was taken.
