This unique aeroplane is the only airworthy Genairco in the world. Looking a lot like a Tiger Moth, the Genairco was actually a wholly Australian designed and built aircraft. This one was built in 1930 and has been flying more or less continuously since. Fairly recently restored to beautiful condition. Note the Polar Bear in the two-seat, side-by-side front cockpit!

This is actually the second Tiger Moth to carry the rego VH-APE. This one was also built for the RAAF as A17-218. Post-war it was civilianised in 1947 as VH-BCS but was withdrawn from use in 1963. Restored, it was returned to the Register as VH-APE on 22 August 1987. Currently based in NSW, it was one of the aircraft in a vintage fly-past at the Wide Bay International Airshow.

According to what's painted on the side of this Stearman, it is a PT-17. However, according to its cn it was built as a PT-18 Kaydet with a Jacobs engine to a 1940 USAAC order and allocated the military serial 40-1971. It was first registered in Australia on 25 May 1998 and is currently operated by Nigel Arnot out of Brisbane. Seen here at the Wide Bay International Airshow.
