This Chippie is ex RAF Rhodesian Air Training Group which means that it did not serve in the UK but was supplied new to Rhodesia with 69 others. However it appears never to have been assembled in Rhodesia as it was sold with nil hours flown via DH South Africa to Australia. One of the original three Chipmunks acquired by the Royal Victorian Aero Club and registered VH-RVZ in September 1954. Sold in 1965 and became VH-RTW.

This lovely Kerang-based RV-4 was first registered on 16 October 1989 but didn't make its first flight until 30 March 1991. It's seen here visiting the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Auster Rally at a dry and dusty Wentworth.

Parasol-wing, monoplanes are pretty rare at the best of times. This is the first, and so far only, Mk II version of the Sprite, built by Doug Pardew. The Mk I aircraft had a lovely boomerang-shaped wing but was otherwise similar. The only problem is, I wouldn't fit in it!

With Russian AF markings. You have to see 'Yak on the Prowl' in the flesh to really appreciate this amazing paint job.

It still carries its original US registration, NC8203K on the fin (& VH-ROE in the shadow under the tailplane). One of nine Meta Sokols imported in the early '60s by Dulmison Aircraft, Sydney, most of which were registered in the VH-DU_ block. VH-DUT was registered new on 23 Nov 62 and spent its early life in NSW, then Qld. On 5 Oct 69 it crashed 22 NM SW of Mundubbera, Qld, after an engine failure and was cancelled from the Register. Following a long period of hibernation and restoration, re-registered with its original identity 12 Aug 93 to an owner in SA. Recently re-painted, it is known as the 'Violet Crumble'.
