An Afghan HIPof the Afghan National Army - Air Corps. The helicopter was assigned to the 337 Regiment in the old structure of the air force. Unfortunately, the construction number was not found on this Mil Mi-8 so its history will most probably remain in silence as the helicopter was most probably scrapped late 2011.

Kabul taxiway with left stored 727s, in the middle the Dutch KDC-10 and on the right a German Transall. Great to see the massive Hindu Kush mountains in the back ground, these legs lead to the 7,708 m (25,289 ft) high mountains in nearby Pakistan. Near Kabul, in the west, the Hindu Kush attain heights of 3,500 to 4,000 metres (11,500 to 13,100 ft)

A anonymous C-20G visiting Kabul International Airport (KAIA) in miserable weather conditions. In the background you can see the Hundu Kush mountain range, but the highest part is cover by sand dust, snow, fog and low clouds. The VIP-aircraft, operated by VR-51, brought some high level commanders to the nearby International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) headquarters.

Antonov 32 of the Fixed Wing of the then Afghan National Army - Air Corps. The 342 was delivered to the ANA-AC in April 1991 in a green/brown colour scheme. Late 2004 the aircraft was overhauled at Ivanovo-Severny (Russia) and redelivered to Afghanistan early 2005 in this boring overall grey colour scheme. The aircraft only continued operations for a few years as it was withdrawn from use in 2011. It was scrapped (unconfirmed) at Kabul in 2012.

This 278 is the second An-26 of the Afghan National Army - Air Corps carrying this serial. The first was construction number 13409, but this airframe was probably hijacked to Pakistan by followers of General Tanai after the failed coup attempt of 5 March '90. 13409 is now in a aviation museum in Karachi (Pakistan). This 278 with construction number 13902 of this picture was first seen in a camo jacket in March '02 in service ANA_AC. The An-26 became grey in 2006 and is withdrawn from use at Kabul in 2013.
