The first U-16 in Spanish AF service came from the USAF in 1954 and formed two SAR units, one covered the area around the Canaries and the other in the Ballearics. The type was finally retired from service in 1979 and replaced in the SAR role by C212 and P-3s. This example is on display at the Museo del Aire.

The PL-12 was designed as a crop-duster and agricultural sesquiplane (a common variation on the biplane where one wing has less than half the surface area of the other). Other versions can be used as cargo, ambulance or aerial survey aircraft, and carry one passenger in the top deck and four in the lower deck. This example was ferried to Spain in 1977 and is now on display at the super Museo del Aire.

This is actually N86427 ex-USAAF 44-29121 but is on display at the super Museo del Aire at Cuatro Vientos. The original B-25, 74-17, was another B-25 (ex-41-30338) that flew with the Spanish AF but was interned after landing in Nador (North Africa) in Aug. 1944. In 1948 it was returned to flying condition and between 1950-1953 served in the air force but was, unfortunately, scrapped in 1956.
