1950: TOS USAF, but apparently never served on active duty. Instead, it was loaned to Pratt and Whitney for engine testing purposes. 1971: Flown to Wright Field for the Air Force Museum. It is now painted in the markings of the 47th Bomb Group (Light), based in England from 1952 to 1955.

15 May 1947: First flight, at Muroc AFB. April/48: TOS USAF. Used in extensive engine testing program with one engine being changed to a J47. When the clear plastic nose began to crack from variations in temperature at high and low altitudes, mechanics fashioned a durable replacement made from plywood, which is still on the plane.
