This An-2 was originally delivered to Privredna avijacija as YU-BOW in April 1987. At the start of the civil war in Yugoslavia the plane transferred to the fledgling Croatia AF with the YU- prefix painted over. It became 014 in June 1995 and is now stored at Velika Gorica. The other An-2s visible, also ex-Croatian AF, are 9A-BMA (ex-SP-DEK) in the middle and 013 (ex-OK-MYB) behind that. Right at the back is is ex-Croatian AF MiG-21 bis 03 blue and at the front, bottom left is UTVA-75 T9-CLM.

Came in for a fuel stop. I remember it was a very windy day and the approach made quite the impact on me. Due to strong headwinds, the aircraft was literally crawling to the runway, at an obviously incredibly slow ground speed. Closest thing to an aircraft hovering in place I've ever seen.

In the early 80ies, my wife used to jump out of this AN-2 as a parachutist, when the aircraft was based at Halle-Oppin and wore the GDR-registration DM-WJK. She was delighted to see this 48-year old lady again in 2022 - on its current homebase Merseburg a few miles south of Halle, still in regular use for the local parachute club.

This An-2 was originally registered to Zaklad Uslug Agro (ZUA Mielec) in February 1973. The registration was cancelled in February 1998 and the plane is now preserved (the grass is being cut so propably not dumped/stored) but in rather poor condition at this golf club between Munich and the Austrian border.

This An-2 was first registered in April 1990 and is pictured about to be used as a parachute jump ship. For the past year or so the Hungarian AF has sub-contracted this plane in order to train military parachutists, the guys were preparing their gear out of shot. The number on the side is fictitious but the plane has this pseudo-military scheme in recognition of its new role.

I guess he was conserving energy for the hangar party in the evening. This An-2 was originally supplied to the East German military organization GST - Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik (Sport and Technology Association) as DM-WJK in March 1970 (then DDR-WJE in May 1982). After reunification it was allocated the reg. D-FCJK but this was ntu, instead becoming D-FWJK in September 1995. The plane crashed on landing at Merseburg (EDAM) in September 2015 after it was caught by a gust of wind and flipped over. Fortunately, it could be repaired at PZL Mielec and returned to service.

This An-2 is thought to have flown with the Polish AF as '9870' but this is unconfirmed. It became OK-XIG in June 1978 flying for Svaznam and then from June 2002 with the An-2 Verteran's Club. It now carries these Aerovia titlles and was another of the beautiful planes taking part in this super show.
