Correct registration is CR-LKR, sold to Varig by the Aero Club of Angola c1979 for display in the airlines planned museum at Porto Alegre. Painted to represent PP-VAN (c/n6449) which was delivered to Varig in July 1942 and flew the airlines first international service, from Porto Alegre to Montivideo in August 1942. By 2001 the aircraft was re-located for display at the Museu Aeroespacial at Campo Dos Afonsos.

First flight in ACLS configuration made in early April 1975, first landing on 11 April 1975. Flight testing was done by the 4950th Test Wing, Aeronautical System Division, USAF, at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
