Renamed British World 1993, withdrawn Southend 1994 and scrapped 1996. BAF regularly experimented with livery changes. Shortened "British" titles were introduced in 1987 after British Airways had dropped these in favour of the Landor scheme.

Ex 42-23546, FD862. To BOAC as G-AGHP in August 1943. Reported ferried to Tripoli, Libya on 11 October 1943. Listed as based at Bristol - Whitchurch at the end of 1945. The logo with the word Speedbird is thought to be postwar. Dakotas carried out the UK - Lagos route, via Lisbon and Bathurst, until July 1947. G-AGHP was seriously damaged at Croydon in August 1947, which thwarted a transfer to Hong Kong Airways - VR-HDO not taken up. To BEA in December 1948. Converted to Leopard class freighter in 1953. Pan American's Consolidated "Commodore" on exhibit as part of the 1940 Golden Gate International Exposition. Carried "Training Plane No.1" on the nose. The exposition opened May 25, 1940, through September 29, 1940.

Delivered to Northwest Orient Airlines as DC-6B N578 in 1957. To United Arab Airlines as SU-ANN in 1964 then to Sterling Airways as OY-STR in 1968. To Zantop International Airlines as N515TR and converted to a DC-6B(F) freighter in 1973. To Bellomy-Lawson Aviation in 1982 and reregistered as N91BL in 1984 then to Gentry Inc in 1989 and reregistered as N34C in 1990. Sold as 9Q-CYO in 1997. Stored at Rand, South Africa by 2006 and scrapped in 2021.

In Transcontinental Airlines colours with titles and logs painted over. Delivered to American Airlines as N90778 in 1953. To RANSA as YV-C-ERG in 1960 then sold as N45001 in 1965. Operated by Trans Continental Airlines from 1978 to 1982. Impounded by the Colombian Government in 1982 then to the Colombian Air Force as 909 in 1983. Stored at Madrid Air Base by 1990. Last noted in 2008. Later scrapped.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-101231 in 1944. Sold as N5131B in 1956 and used by a number of operators. Used by Trans Continental Airlines from 1981 to 1982. To the Mexican Air Force as TEC-6047. I identified and photographed it on the dump at Mexico City in 1996. Preserved at the Explora Center, Leon, Mexico by 2001.

Delivered to General Motors as Convair 440-62 N5126 in 1959. Converted to a 580 in 1960. Sold as N5126N in 1981 then to Avensa as YV-83C in 1983 and SEC Colombia as HK-3674 in 1991. Withdrawn from use at Bogota in 1999. Scrapped around 2005.

Delivered to Western Air Lines as N91310 in 1954. To Los Angeles Dodgers as N1R then reregistered as N180R in 1961. To Taxader Colombia as HK-1029 in 1963. Sold as N12810 then to Spantax as EC-BBK and converted to a swingtail freighter in 1965. To Zantop International Airlines as N434TA in 1975 then to Northern Air Cargo in 1987. Stored at Fairbanks, AK by 2005. Flown to Hay River, NT, Canada for Buffalo Airways in 2013 and stored there.

Built in 1955. In 1980 went to Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña. Written off 1 May 1986 after one engine caught on fire on take off from San Salvador.

Previously G-AOIG with BOAC. In service with Saturn until September 1968

Delivered to Braniff Airways as CV340-32 N3420 in 1953. To Caribair in 1965. Converted to a CV640 in 1966. Caribair merged into Eastern Air Lines then to Zantop International Airlines in 1973. To Viking International Airlines in 1982 then back to Zantop International Airlines in 1985, C&M Airways in 1997, Vent Airlines in 2013 and Aeronaves TSM as XA-UTW in 2014. Stored at Saltillo, Mexico in 2022.
