Coming to Canada in 1963 as CF-PGF, Air Spray bought it and after conversion, put it into service in 1970 as their first A-26 air tanker. Airspray has a few A-26s left at their Red Deer, AB base after retirement of the fleet and there are plans to keep Tanker 1 and someday mount it on a plinth.

What a wonderful place! The Wrigley family, the owners of Catalina Island, constructed this little seaplane airport and founded Wilmington-Catalina Airline in 1931 to fly in tourists from LA. For a literal quick turnaround, a wooden turntable was in use. The company bought the first two Douglas Dolphin amphibians. Its two Loening C-2s, in the background, were sold to Mexico in 1933.

N281SD was built in 1980 and has seen service with Heliservicio in Mexico as XA-SZD till early 1996. It continued with Air Logistics as N24HS, just to be registered in Mexico again as XA-AAC sometimes later. Became C-FTXU with Eagle Copters Maintenance in March 2004 and from November 2005 started to serve with it's current operator SDFD as N800DM. It appears to have been re-registered to N281SD on January 14, 2020, just a few days before very friendly staff at this SDFD Air Operations base did let me take a picture of this beautiful bird.
