Retired from RAF service with the A&AEE, Boscombe Down in 1968. Sold to Shuttleworth for restoration but not proceeded with. Registered as G-BSMF to Gordon Fraser, Switzerland on 5th September 1990. Reported on restoration in Arbroath, Scotland December 1993. De-registered April 2001 on sale to UAE. On display in Sharjah Museum, UAE, marked as "G-AKVW" in Gulf Aviation colours.

Operated by 32 squadron. Made the last RAF Sycamore flight just a few weeks later, flying into the Torbay Aircraft Museum on 11th August 1972. Moved on when the museum closed in 1988 and was last reported as being in Wales. Sightings of "XG544" in Switzerland are probably of HB-RXB which is painted as such.

Still flying with the Shuttleworth Collection in 2022, marked as "E3273".

Loaned by the Air Council to the Shuttleworth Collection in late 1959. Seen here on static display, the first post-restoration flight was by Allen Wheeler two months later on 28 September 1972. The CAA later insisted all airworthy Shuttleworth Collection aeroplanes should have civil registrations, so unused G-AANJ was allocated in October 1981. The loan was reconfirmed in 1994 at which point maintenance serial 9239M was issued. The last flight was on 20 November 2003 when the loan was terminated and it went to RAF Cosford on 12 November 2003 where it has remained since in a dismantled state.
