The Hawker Woodcock fighter was oddly named after a stocky wading bird, a gamebird even. A variant for Denmark was christened Danecock, or Dankok in Danish. Three examples were delivered from Britain, and this survivor is one of twelve manufactured by the Danish Naval Dockyard.

Mikael Carlson's display was the highlight of the Stauning airshow. To take off, he had his Fokker turned into the wind right at his parking position at the crowdline, opened the throttle and was airborne from the grass seconds later to clear the obstacle of the runway. Tony Fokker would have been delighted!

The Auster Mk.I, which entered service with the RAF as a light artillery observation and liaison aircraft in August 1942, was a two-seater. A three-seat cabin was introduced on the Auster Mk.IV. Over 1600 Austers of the wartime models were built.

The F-86D Sabre Dog all-weather fighter was more complex than the similar F-86K, which was supplied to five European NATO countries from the mid-1950s. Denmark received some sixty used F-86Ds instead from June 1958. The Danes found the F-86D's systems difficult to keep up. Note the retractable tray for 24 'Mighty Mouse' unguided rockets. USAF serial of this machine, 51-8421.

First flown in 1913, the Avro 504 had a very long life for an aircraft of its era. The modernized 504N, with a radial engine and a new undercarriage, appeared in 1925 and was a standard trainer in the RAF until 1933. This airframe was one of three built by the Danish Orlogsvaerftet (Naval Yard).
