The exhibited aircraft is one of about 200 examples of the CASA 2.111B version produced under licence until 1956 by the Spanish company Construcciones Aeronáuticas S.A. (CASA) in Tablada, with two British Rolls Royce engines in place of the German engines. After it was taken out of service by the Spanish Air Force in 1967, the plane was used in the film Battle of Britain. It flew for the last time in September 1970.

The complete history of the exhibited Bücker Bü 181 is not known. It is nearly certain that it flew with the Luftwaffe. In 1959 it was registered as D-ECYV. Before that it was flown in Saarland with the registration SL-AAS. The last owner was Hans Dittes, who made his final flight with the plane on August 24, 1997.

The plane on display was produced by Petera in 1944 and was flown in 1944/1945 by a Nazi Fliegersturm (flying unit) near Wolfratshausen, just south of Munich. It escaped destruction and after the war was initially used by the occupying forces. After a crash in 1952 it was refurbished and rebuilt. It was among the first gliders to be certified for use in Germany in 1952 when the Allied ban was lifted, and was flown until 1971. In the years 1989-1992 it was restored by the Deutsches Museum and the Werftverein (the association dedicated to preserving the Flugwerft)

The Otto-Doppeldecker (Otto-biplane) was designed by the Munich-based company Flugmaschinenwerke Gustav Otto. It was the first aircraft flown by the Royal Bavarian Flying Corps, which was formed in 1912. From 1912 until 1914, 63 Otto biplanes were stationed at Schleissheim. Not a single one remains in existence. In view of the significance of this aircraft to the history of the Schleissheim airfield, the Werftverein, a volunteer group, is building a replica in cooperation with the Deutsches Museum. As neither an original aircraft nor production drawings were available

The exhibited training glider is named 'Türkenlouis' - the nickname of the Marquis Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden (1655-1707), a general in the wars against the Turks - and was built from plans by the Rastatt Sport Flying Club between 1951 and 1954. It was used only for a short time because the club began two-seater training in 1956.
