The second Indian Air Force AW101 (intended to be ZW-4306) based at Newquay from 15 May 2013, joining ZR339. A third AW101 was due to join them shortly. They were used to train IAF crews on the operation of these VIP transports. The Indian contract was cancelled due to a financial dispute, and this aircraft was reported to have been delivered to the Indonesian AF on 19 January 2017 as H-1001. However that deal also seems to have turned bad, the helicopter reportedly being impounded by the police prior to delivery. Its current status is uncertain, possibly stored at Yeovil?

Arriving for overhaul at SAMCO. Departed again 12/SEP/2013. Involved in a landing accident at Jabalpur, India, 4/DEC/2015, when it hit a herd of wild boars on the runway causing the L/H main gear to collapse. I haven't found any records of it being repaired or seen flying since.

In 1984, the French MoD launched a programme to equip the Armée de l'Air with a modern and reliable Signal and Comint (SIGINT/COMINT) collection aircraft to replace the six heavily modified Noratlas aircraft. Two C-160s were taken from the transport inventory, being F216 and F221. These became resp. C-160G-1 and C-160G-2 , both modified with a radome containing a COMINT espionage system under the belly of the aircraft, two pods at wingtips containing the ELINT systems and four antennas on top of the nose. From 1989 the first spionage C-160, now named Gabriel, became operational. Assigned to Escadron Electronique Aéroporté (EEA) 1/54 "Dunkerque"

During WWI Italian aeronautical engineer Gianni Caproni developed a series of multi-engine heavy bombers that played a key role in the Allied strategic bombing campaign. His bombers were produced not only in Italy but also in France, Great Britain and the US. Toward the end of the war the definitive version, the Ca. 36, went into production with Ca. 36s remaining in Italian AF service as late as 1929. The NMUSAF obtained this example from the Museo Aeronautica Caproni di Taliedo in Italy in 1987.

This crashed in 1941 due to engine failure about 70 miles SE of Fairbanks. Uninjured, the crew hiked to safety but the aircraft was abandoned and remained in the Alaskan wilderness until recovery by helicopter in June 1968. The aircraft was recovered in remarkable condition with only the wings requiring extensive restoration. Now on display at the National Museum of the USAF.

The B-10 was the first all-metal monoplane bomber produced in quantity, featuring such innovations as retractable landing gear, a rotating gun turret and enclosed cockpits. This B-10 was an export version sold to Argentina in 1938 and is the only remaining example left of the type. In 1970 the Argentinian Govt. kindly donated the aeroplane for display at the National Museum of the USAF.

The J-1 was a two-seat primary trainer and, although similar in appearance to the JN-4, was more difficult to fly and so never gained the popularity of the legendary Jenny. This example is on display at the National Museum of the USAF.

The Martin MB-2 was the first US designed bomber produced in large numbers and became the Air Service's primary multi-engine bomber until replaced by the Keystone bombers of the late 1920s. The Martin MB-2 designers incorporated an interesting element, since its large wingspan made it difficult to store in a hangar, the aircraft had hinged wings No original MB-2 exists rather the reproduction on display at the NMUSAF was built using original Martin drawings and completed in 2002.
