An unusual prototype aircraft that never flew. It was built by Bill Goldsmith who died in 2007. Based on a Jodel D.11 wing, other parts were obtained from several crashed aircraft.

This was permanently withdrawn from use in November 2002 and it became an exhibit at this museum. In September 2015 it was removed from display and moved to Northampton-Sywell as part of celebrations for its previous operator, Sloane Helicopters. It is now under restoration, hopefully to airworthy condition

This rare F1 Lightning is seen in the packed hangar at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum. The aircraft was previously at RAF Swinderby, a recruit training airfield where it was the parade ground 'guardian'

This is a 1993 built replica of the 1935 design by the famous test-pilot Harald Pemberton. It is displayed suspended from the roof of the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum

During WW II the castle at Colditz was used to house Prisoners of War (Oflag IVC) who had a history of attempted escape. A plan was thought up for two prisoners to escape by glider and the Colditz Cock was built in the roof of the castle using materials available to the prisoners. The camp was however liberated before the escape was attempted. In a reversal of the norm, the original never flew but this replica built using the original plans was flown for the Channel 4 TV Series, Escape from Colditz. The aircraft is displayed at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum, on loan from the Imperial War Museum
