Taxying across the apron as 'Unity 990' vacates the runway in the background at the Wide Bay International Airshow. VH-RQH was built in 1965 and registered on 16 March of that year to the Royal Queensland Aero Club in 'their' block. When it was sold on it retained its original rego. At some stage it was upgraded to an Airtourer 150, though it's still on the Register as a 115.

Matt Denning's second, brand-new Boomerang restoration was on static display at the Wide Bay International Airshow. The aircraft is said to be the former A46-63, which crashed at Cape York, Qld, on 24 August 1943 after only 4 months service with 84 Squadron. The restoration included the addition of a second seat, although you wouldn't really know it to look at. The first post-restoraton flight was at Caboolture on 26 June 2009, a week before this photo was taken.

'Unity 991' put on an impressive display at the Wide Bay International Airshow. This aircraft was delivered to US Air, later US Airways, in July 1991 as N885US. It was imported into Australia by Alliance and registered, fittingly, in the old Ansett F.28 sequence as VH-FKA(2) on 11 August 2005. Initially operated in a hybrid scheme, it has since been repainted in full Alliance colours.

Seen taxying at the Wide Bay International Airshow, this 1972 Baron was originally registered N9327Q. In 1978 it suffered a gear collapse at Pueblo, CO, whilst being flown by two FAA inspectors! In 1990 it was exported to Papua New Guinea where it became P2-TCH, and in November 1995 it was re-exported to Australia where it became VH-TCD on the 13th of that month.

This is actually the third Tiger Moth (& the 5th aircraft) to carry the registration VH-RVE: the other Tigers were both old Royal Victorian Aero Club machines. This particular example was built in the UK in 1941 for the RAF as T7093. Post-war it became G-AMMX and later found its way to New Zealand as ZK-BAN, before coming to Australia for a re-build. Seen here at the Wide Bay International Airshow.

Qantaslink operated the pink Dash 8 to the Wide Bay International airshow for static display and a lunch-time charity flight each day. This aircraft was test-flown in Canada as C-FGKH before being registered in Australia on 13 October 2006 for delivery to Qantaslink/Sunstate. In October 2007 it re-appeared in this striking pink scheme as part of Qantaslink's Diamond Partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
