11405 was one of 19 modified 737-200s in use with the USAF for training navigators. The T-43 was retired by the USAF Air Education and Training Command in 2010 after 37 years of service. They were initially assigned to the 455th Flying Training Squadron, part of the 323rd Flying Training Wing of the Air Training Command (ATC) at Mather AFB (CA). The 323rd was inactivated in 1993. 11405 made its first flight on 19 October 1973 and was delivered to the USAF on 4 November 1973. It was reited to AMARC on 19 April 2005 and received inventory code TH0005. It was scrapped by August 2018 with HVF West

Lightnings were quite regular visitors at Leeuwarden during the late eighties. They participated in exercises and I also remember a squadron rotation.

VH-KEE was withdrawn from use in 2006.

VH-PVZ took up its registration in February 1968. It had been VH-PVA, VH-WFX, VH-BKD and originally A17-395 with the RAAF.

VH-RQW was reregistered VH-TLQ in January 2000.

VH-COL had previously been VH-GMG and VH-BTJ before becoming -COL in June 1961.

VH-TLS was damaged in a storm at Brisbane International airport on December 24, 1989. It was shipped back to Canada for repairs and became C-FIPC.

VH-HBK crashed near Julia Creek, Queensland, on June 15, 1992.
