This Alouette 3 was built by F+W at Emmen under licence from Sud Aviation. The helicopter was delivered to the Flugwaffe on 3 August 1973. Unfortunately, the helicopter crashed on 23 October 1985, only months after this picture was taken. The pilot flew into fog and lost orientation. It collided with some trees and crashed to the ground near the village of Rothenthurm (Switzerland). Sadly, three passengers were killed, the pilot was injured.

J-2306 was one of the four very last Mirage 3S's (together with J-2303, J-2308 and J-2332) of the Flugwaffe that made their last operational flight on 2 December 1999. It was then retired and stored at Buochs-Ennetbürgen. The cockpit section of this J-2306 survived and can be seen at the Flieger-Flab-Museum at Dübendorf.
