slide scan from the NK collection. - From 1967 till 1987, Spantax operated a total of 14 Coronados, ten ex American Airlines aircraft and another four ex Swissair. Two were lost in accidents, the rest was retired at Palma in the eighties. One of those (EC-BZO) even survives in derelict condition, last reported in October 2022; the pictured EC-BXI, however, was scrapped in 1991.

This Pacific Western Airlines Boeing 737-200, CF-PWW, is parked outside the PWA maintenance base on the south side of Vancouver Airport in June 1976. In 1974, the Government of Alberta bought PWA for C$37 million and moved the HQ and maintenance base to Edmonton and the YVR base closed. CF-PWW was delivered to PWA in Dec 1972 and left the Canadian Airlines fleet in April 1992. It returned to Canada with short-lived Titan Charter Aviation in YUL as C-FVHG in April 1995, then joined Westjet in Nov 1995 as C-GWJG. Retired 11/2005. Also flying as N380PA, N862SY, HP-1218 between periods in Canada.

G-AZLR was the former ZS-CDU of South African Airways and was one of seven SAA Viscounts, plus spares, acquired by BMA in 1971 for the bargain price of £98,000 for the Viscounts and £37,000 for the spares. The airline got good use out of these aircraft, although G-AZLR was retired from flying in 1982 and put into use as a cabin services trainer at East Midlands It was later transferred to the airport's Fire Service before finally scrapping in 1997. Result of overweight landing after being unable to spray or jettison load. On landing the left main gear scissor broke and aircraft swung right and off the runway ending up on it's nose. The internal spray tanks broke loose and pushed the flight deck bulkhead up to the central pedestal I believe.

Slide scan from the NK collection. Last known registration of this airframe was A6-ZYD, seen at Mitiga, Libya in storage in 2016.

This slide was taken on the Carrier Air Wing Ramp at NAS Cubi Point. As it has no unit markings, it most likely is a replacement RA-5C for a deployed RVAH squadron. This a/c was delivered to the USN in May 1970 and was retired to MASDC on 2 August 1979.
