Taken ca 1966, this Chileka scene is typical for the mid-1960s with the EAAC Comet freshly painted in the new colour scheme introduced in 1965. In the background is a Central African Airways Viscount with Air Malawi stairs in front. CAA had become an operating company for Air Malawi, Air Rhodesia, and Zambia Airways with each airline's titles applied depending on the flight.

Adelaide's terminal usefully has a clock to remind interstate travellers to adjust their watches to Central Standard Time. The integrated terminal and tower was part of the new airport when it opened in 1955. A freestanding tower replaced that part in 1982 while the terminal was slowly lost behind various extensions. It ceased to be used in 2006 and demolished two years later. Photo from: Ken Morris

This aircraft was built as C-47-DL 42-5635 for the RAF (allocated serial FD769), but the aircraft was not taken up and went to BOAC (which operated the aircraft in RAF colours). It went to the newly established Israeli air force in 1950 as 4X-FAG/1401. The Israeli borrowed the aircraft to Uganda probably from the early or mid sixties until 1973. It then returned to the Israeli air force as 4X-FMF/040. It is now preserved at Eilat airport (with fake registration 4X-AES).

It is not clear when and where this photo was taken exactly. The aircraft was seen at Labuan on 26 November 1966 on its way to Hong Kong for overhaul, in company with another. It is however thought that this photo may have been taken at Changi because of the RAF Hastings and Belfast in the background. This aircraft was transferred to the Royal Thai Air Force in 1971 and crashed in 1982 near Tkahli.
