In 1967 the Swiss AF C-3603 target-towing aircraft still had approximately 10 years of structural life remaining but that the plane's engines were on the verge of wearing out. The most economical solution was to re-engineer the existing aircraft with a turboprop engine necessitating extension of the nose of the aircraft by 1.82 m to maintain the CoG. In total 23 aircraft were converted and this one is on display at Speyer.

This An-22 made its first flight in January 1966 as CCCP-56391 but soon went the Soviet Air Force as '03 red', where it established a world record by hauling a payload of 100,444.6 kg to a height of 7,848 m in October 1967. It set further records but was eventually recalled to Antonov and underwent a special conversion to enable it to transport An-124 wings. It was rebuilt to a normal freighter and made its last flight in December 1999 to Speyer where it is on display at the Technikmuseum.

During the winter of 1940 this 110 was based in Northern Norway when it was forced to make an emergency landing on frozen Lake Upmasjaure in Sweden. The following Spring the ice melted and the aircraft sank to the bottom where it remained until salvaged some 50 years later. The recovered remains are now on display at the super Technikmuseum Speyer.
