USAF C-7B 62-4182 was moved to the Western International Aviation scrapyard at Davis-Monthan in Sep 1986. It was registered to Newcal Aviation as N60NC on 5 Sep 1986, but this registration was never applied, and the aircraft did not leave the Western scrapyard until 30 Sep 2020 when it was moved from the Western International scrapyard to a compound at the Pima Air & Space Museum, reportedly for a rebuild using parts from 62-4150/N92NC c/n 86 and 63-9739/N80NC c/n 186. It was again registered, now as N68NC, on 15 Jun 2021, but this registration too was never applied to the aircraft. This Caribou was still stored at the museum at the time of upload, with no sign of any rebuild.

Carries its former USAF serial 90-0171 on the nose and on the rear fuselage, and DOSAW C-1 on the tail.

The HU-16B (and SA-16B before it) is a long-wing conversion of the standard HU-16A / SA-16A. No HU-16Bs were built, they are all converted HU-16As.

Photographed in the restoration area of the Pima Air and Space Museum, but not part of the museum's inventory. This Orion was in fact awaiting delivery to Argentina, which took place in Sep 2024. Became 0855 / 6-P-57.

Parked / stored in the museum's restoration area, with all Marines markings painted out. This CH-46 was registered to the National United States Armed Forces Museum (Houston, TX) as N7682F on 12 Sep 2022, but this registration had not yet been applied at the time of this photo.

Still carries AMARG inventory code AN4C0008 on the nose.

Brand new display item for the Pima museum. This Lodestar was acquired by them in 1972, on loan from the Smithsonian, but it remained stored in the museum's restoration yard for almost 50 years until restoration began in the second half of 2021. On 31 Jan 2024 it was finally placed on display in the bare metal US Navy markings seen here.

An unusual aircraft type for the Pima museum, with no roots in the USA whatsoever.
