Swissair took delivery of Convair 440 HB-IMM in 1957. Sold to SATA S.A. de Transport Aerien Geneve (the company's first large airliner) in 1968, it was converted by General Dynamics to a Convair 640. The aircraft landed hard at Tromsø/Langnes Airport in Norway on July 17, 1973 and bounced. Touching down again nose first, the nose wheel partially collapsed and damaged the airliner beyond economic repair.
