The New Zealand national airline changed its name from Tasman Empire Air Lines (TEAL) to Air New Zealand to coincide with the delivery of DC-8s . The livery remained basically that used on TEAL's L188 Electras. The first DC-8s even had TEAL on the fin until passengers got used to the new name but it was soon removed. The Air New Zealand livery was revamped in 1973 using the Maori "koru" symbol. This photo was added on 8 November 2025, and has since been viewed 51 times. |
