Aeronca bought a licence to build the Erco Ercoupe and called it the 12AC Chum. Two examples were built of which the second had a single tailfin, conventional controls and all-metal construction including the cladding of the wings. With Aeronca's own 7AC Champ selling by the thousands in 1946 and 1947, the project was dropped.
