This was the prototype for Airbus of the A340-500. The ultra Long range aircraft that never became the expected success. It joined the Emirates fleet in 2004 and was broken up at Ras El Khaimah IN 2013. Emirates didn't even use the type on their extreme long routes, but often used them on shorter routes as they were thirsty jets.
