This former Libyan Arab Air Force (serial 490) was captured (!) from Libya in 1987 while it flew a reconnaissance mission over western Sudan near the border of Chad. The aircraft became in trouble during that flight and landed in the desert in Chad. It was restored to flying condition by Reims aircraft in June 1989 where it carried temporarely F-WQFA up to late 2000. It was redelivered to Chad, but they only flew a short while with it.
This former Libyan Air Force SF260 (ex serial 344) was donated by Khadaffi in 2006. The aircraft was seriously damaged on 12 December 1989 in Libyan service, but repaired. So Khadaffi knew what he was given away :-).
One of the 9 Libyan Air Force SF-260 captured in Wadi Doum in 1986. This one is just re painted in Chadian markings and waiting for numbers and codes (481 / QAD); Written off during an accident in Dec. 1989.
Was the sole SF260 of 70°Stormo for some time and made its official last flight there on 19 September 2009 with these extra titles (other side says '1976-2009'). Actually flew at least until late October 2009 and preserved in Vigna di Valle since 2012.
