Western Airlines flew passengers with this Electra (N9744C) from February 1961 until the end of 1968 when it was converted to a freighter. Next with Reeve Aleutian Airways September 1970 - September 2002, although the airline ceased flying in 2000. For Atlantic Airways the registration G-LOFH was allocated but never used. Registered N4HG to a trust company, the engines were used by the airline on other Electras. Stored at Coventry, it was made flyable and sold to Buffalo Airways in 2011 to become C-FIJV. Stored at Red Deer still in RAA colors, it has provided parts for their flyable L-188s.

Built for Olympic Airways as SX-DAF and first flown in August 1958. Owned briefly by Alaska Airlines in 1961 and joined Reeve Aleutian in January 1962. The aircraft was believed sold to Northern Air Cargo in 1978, probably for use as spares, and ended up in the emergency services training area at Anchorage.

Ex N63AJ, registered to Reeve as N178RV 4th Apr 1978 and leased to NWT as C-GNWC Apr 1987-Sep 1988. Returned to Reeve and became N2RK 6th Sep 2002

Ex TOA Domestic JA8713, registered to Reeve as N171RV 31st Jan 1975 and became XA-TTY with Gacela Air Cargo 11th March 2002

Unloading after our return from Saint Paul AK with Captains Gary Lintner and Wayne Russel. Gary was the F/O on the company's L-188 Electra N1968R involved in a major, and well documented, emergency in Jun 83. You can find it on YouTube.

Saint Paul Island is the largest of the Pribilof Islands, a group of four Alaskan volcanic islands located in the Bering Sea between the USA and Russia. Whilst in Anchorage a couple of friends and I decided it would be nice to go for a ride on an L-188 Electra. Reeve arranged for us to fly to St Paul and back. At the time St Paul had a gravel runway and I had the cockpit J/S for landing. The Station Manager took us for a quick ride to see walruses and sea lions in their wild habitat. Flight times were 2:14 and 2:30. Back in ANC the frame's total time was logged as 41411 hours.

Delivered new 30th Jan 1973 and withdrawn from use PANC (Anchorage) July 1995

Delivered new to Western Airlines 20th May 1959, transferred to Transcontinental Feb 1972, Zantop Feb 1978 and finally Reeve Aleutian Aug 1983. Withdrawn from use PANC (Anchorage) Jan 1986 and used for spares

Sold in Trinidad and Tobago as 9Y-THO in 1995.

Ended up flying for a few operators in Mexico.

Later to Buffalo Airways as C-FIJX.
