43-49664 to French air force in May 1945, assigned to GT II/15 'Anjou' and seen here repratriating prisoners from Germany that same month. The location is given as Hengen near Stuttgart. French Spitfires of GC I/7 'Provence' and GC II/7 'Nice' were based there according to ECPAD and are seen in other photos. We could find no other reference to an airfield near Hengen, 40 km south of Stuttgart. Very soon, GT II/15 deployed to Indochina, but without this aircraft, which became F-BAIE of Air France in January 1946. Photo by: Gilbert Laydevant / ECPAD
