Originally CS-TLC with TAP - Air Portugal, this aircraft flew the airline's last Super Constellation flight on April 13, 1967. Sold and registered 5T-TAF for work in the humanitarian Biafrian airlift, the registration turned out to be fake. The aircraft was impounded in Malta with a load of aircraft tires in 1968. It was sold and towed off the airport in 1972, turned into a restaurant and later a coffee bar. Sadly, It was burned by vandals in 1997. Four engines and cowlings with assorted smaller parts were recovered for the Malta Aviation Museum Foundation.

The final act. The Super Constellation, marked with false registration 5T-TAF, had arrived in Malta in February 1968 and was impounded by the authorities. Sold by auction in 1972, it was transferred to the nearby village of Kirkop where it served for many years as the "Super Constellation Bar & Restaurant". Following many years of disuse, it was destroyed by arsonists on 30 January 1997.

Previously CS-TLC of Transportes Aereo Portugueses (TAP). Arrived at Luqa on 16 February 1968, at the time owned by North American Trading Company (Hank Wharton), and was impounded by the authorities for having the fake registration 5T-TAF. Remained at Luqa till the end of 1972 when it was sold by auction for conversion into a bar/restaurant. In this photo it is seen at a temporary location outside the village of Kirkop before being moved to a nearby field which was to become its final home until its destruction by fire on 30 January 1997.

Scanned from negative. This aircraft was captured about 15 minutes walk from Luqa. It was at that time a bar & restaurant. We did visit and have a soft drink after a very hot walk. Last markings were '5T-TAF'

This aircraft had been impounded 3 years earlier, in February 1968, and stored at Luqa. It was eventually sold and moved from the airport for use as a restaurant in January 1973.
