Sold to Lockheed in May 1983 becoming N130X. At Marietta-Dobbins AFB, GA on February 3, 1993 whilst evaluating a rudder fly-by-wire flight control system, the aircraft accidentally veered left and became airborne. The a/c. climbed to 250 feet and crashed.
This bare-metal L-100 was a very frequent transit visitor to Shannon in the early 1980s. On 12 October 2010 this same aircraft crashed in Afghanistan when it flew into terrain on downwind for landing at Kabul. It was by then registered 5X-TUC.
