The "double nuts" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 124 "Bear Aces" is furnished with a special tail. The Hawkeye was seen at Fallon during a work-up period for an upcoming at sea deployment.
his E-2 is pictured about to line up on rw12 for departure back to France. It had made a quick fuel stop at PIK en route home after deployment in the US. Note the port side tail plane carries 100 year anniversary markings for Flottille 4F, whereas the starboard side carries an American bald eagle motif, presumably in deference to the deployment just completed.

I like a bit of aeroplane with my propellor shots!! These latest generation 8-blade Hamilton NSP2000 propellers (along with attached Hawkeye) were part of the U.S. static area at the Dubai Air Show 2009. Note also that the blade-tip covers spell out the unit with which this a/c serves (VAW-117).
